What are we doing it for?

About dreamfactory

It starts with our dream. And yes, that's a bit vague. If you know us, you know we like to keep our feet on the ground. Still, we want to tell you why we do it all. Besides, of course, just a great job with great colleagues and clients.

We appreciate it when people find their work meaningful and enjoyable. Many people spend a significant portion of their time working.

That people can pursue their passion in their work, tap into their untapped potential, and have fun at the same time.

We have a thing about working together. With enjoyment and results. With making sure the world becomes a little more beautiful through your organization.

Old building in Woerden

We do this from a pleasant building dating back to 1850 in Woerden. A lovely town with excellent restaurants and cafes.

Many people say they quickly feel at home with us. And that's exactly the intention.

Heard a buy signal? Yes is hooray, and no is okay. (Not helping a customer in need is not okay.)

Dreamfactory

What do we consider important?

Our three core values

Result

We want to achieve something. Make sure there's enough good work. And make people's work more enjoyable or better.

We'd also like this to remain permanent. So if the next reorganization ends the fun, we don't mind.

Please have a measurable effect

And if possible, measurable. In terms of turnover, employee satisfaction, or customer satisfaction. But some things are less measurable, yet still important. Like less hassle. So, both people saying they find their work better, more enjoyable, and more fun, as well as a figure in the monthly report that's moving in the right direction.

A lasting difference is a permanent difference; something concrete must have changed – otherwise, we don't want it.

Fun (free child)

We want to have fun ourselves, of course. It's all important, but it doesn't always have to be taken so seriously. For us, it's about things like:

  • Fun
  • Authenticity
  • Inspiration

You notice there's a lot of laughter during our sessions. We consider that a good sign. And very enjoyable ourselves, of course.

Trust

Our processes often revolve around the role of trusted advisor. We also believe trust is very important. This means, among other things: Being sincere. Being clear about what's going on.

  • Careful instead of cautious
  • No political games or spreadsheet fundamentalism
  • Delivering quality
  • Practice what you preach
  • Also continue to learn continuously

Our Mission

Organizations learn to utilize their potential and thus demonstrate their impact to the outside world. So that the organizations have added value, enjoy your work and “stop playing nonsense games”.

We do this by giving the substantively strong professionals an explicit entrepreneurial role

How do we see this? (Our vision, that is)

If you do substantive work, you need a client or customer. If you only do enjoyable work, and no one pays for it, then it's a hobby. Nothing wrong with that, of course. And it's inconvenient if you want to make a living from it.

So you first have to find such a customer and then keep him satisfied.

The following is noticeable:

  • Knowledge alone isn't enough for satisfied customers. Customers want help with their problems, not just a dose of knowledge dumped on them.
  • Customers increasingly believe they know what they need. Patients have already found the medication their doctor should prescribe online.
  • Professionals tend to rush to solutions. However, the "you ask, we deliver" mentality has the disadvantage that you don't truly step into a partnership role. And you run the risk of solving the wrong problem.
  • Our clients prefer not to compete on price. With low-wage countries and the self-employed, there's always someone cheaper. So you have to add value in a different way.
  • Problems are becoming increasingly difficult to isolate. If the client and the professional don't work together, it's impossible to properly define the problem and find a good solution.

BThe above means you have to decide how you, as a B2B organization, want to position yourself in the (internal) market. Competing on price isn't the most appealing option. What you can do is become your customer's partner. Take on the role of trusted advisor. You help your customer understand the problem, and that's where the solution begins.

We believe being a partner is the best way to be viable. And that does mean that the roles of (sales) managers and professionals are changing. The average professional isn't naturally fond of these "selling" tasks, and they're less adept at them. This places demands on the entire organization.

We're happy to help. We'll happily and enthusiastically share our knowledge and experience.

Commercial mindset in my team

Hi Maarten, I'd like to thank you for the training and the reflection you held up to me during the sessions. I'm not quite there yet, but my mindset is good, and the actions have been refined and planned. I've also noticed that, thanks to your tips that help me manage this better, my team is more aware of the commercial mindset required in their role as advisors. I'll continue with this and expect to see further improvement in the near future. I hope to see you at a future training and learn even more! Kind regards, Annerieke
